High Five
About the Band
High Five is a five-piece band formed on May 1, 2024 by a group of students at SI who share a strong interest in collaboration, live performance, and thoughtful musicianship. The band came together through a mix of shared classes, rehearsals, and informal jam sessions, eventually developing into a focused project centered on writing, arranging, and performing high-quality music for live audiences.
High Five places a strong emphasis on live performance. Our goal is to create sets that are energetic, well-rehearsed, and engaging, whether performing at small events or larger venues.
The band draws inspiration from a wide range of artists, including Bruno Mars, Chappell Roan, Queen, and Kesha, among others. These influences can be heard in their focus on strong melodies, rhythmic clarity, and expressive performances, while still leaving room for experimentation and growth.

We like to experiment with different genres and styles. We mainly play pop music, but we also incorporate elements of rock, jazz, and electronic music into our sound. Our favorite artists include Bruno Mars, Chappell Roan, Queen, Kesha, and many more.

The Starry Plough Pub
We were the opening musicians for the Cooldown. The audience had people of all ages and everyone had a blast.

Performed a 45-minute set for our high school community, and opened for DJ D Sharp, the official DJ for the Warriors team. We had a complete sound and light system that made the performance top-notch. We featured songs by Kesha, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake and more.

For the second and last year, we welcomed students to the school on the first day in front of the Foyer and theaters. It was a hit, and we're so glad we got to see the school community listen to us.

It was an honor to be part of such an important event and to share our music with the audience consisting of the entirety of the SI community. To kick off the event, we performed 'Safe and Sound' by Capital Cities.

It was a great experience to play for the school community and showcase our music. We played a mix of songs of different genres, and the crowd seemed to really enjoy it. It was also the longest set we have played so far, and we were all very excited to be there.
